đź“– Pre-Fraughtian Era

GENs 0-1/No administration

The Pre-Fraughtian Era began somewhere around May to July of 2012. This era primarily serves to contextualize the events that will lead up to the creation of the Fraught Squad. At this point, the community does not yet exist, and FraughtMovie has just been introduced to Minecraft by his friends.

"JAE" World & Minecraft Pocket

FraughtMovie was formally introduced to Minecraft (and Xbox) by his neighborhood friends known under the aliases of “woefulbus” and “GVK Knight”. Together, they created a local Minecraft world in TU1 or TU2 of the Xbox 360 version of the game. The only notable memory is that FraughtMovie would call the in-game dirt item “cobblestone”.

Enamored by the game, FraughtMovie downloaded Minecraft - Pocket Edition Lite (Version 0.2.1.) on an iPad. Many structures were built in this version of the game but were lost, as the game did not have a save feature. Around the same time, FraughtMovie earned his name, randomly generated by the Xbox service.

Cookie Castle: The Community's Inspirtation

On July 24th, 2012, FraughtMovie officially acquired an Xbox and enabled Xbox Live. Soon after, Woefulbus introduced him to his Xbox friend group and “Cookie Castle,” an Xbox 360 world they were building. The name “Cookie Castle” was inspired by a family member of "ShowStopperLola", another member of the friend group. Although no images of the castle survive, it was a larger build divided into three “classes,” with the third class being the lowest. This project served as inspiration for FraughtMovie and GVK Knight, who began work on their own version of Cookie Castle known as “The Town” on July 25th, 2012.

The Town: The Community's 1st Town

The Town is the earliest surviving build from this era. Inspired by Cookie Castle, it also featured three classes:

In the center stood the Mayor’s House, occupied by FraughtMovie. The Town shows no evidence of offensive or defensive activity, and none of the soon-to-be the original five Fraughtians were into PvP combat.

The Town featured a “Tower of Pimps”, named after a similar structure seen in episode 2 of Rooster Teeth’s Minecraft series, and it was built by GVK Knight. Additionally, the town had a harbor and an underground rail system that led to a cross, also constructed by GVK Knight. Further out, there stood a tree with a ladder known as the “Observer”, offering a pleasant view of The Town.

Mastercraft: The Birth of Map-Making

On November 11th, 2012, FraughtMovie began constructing a parkour/hunger games course. This build was completed before December 7th, 2012, possibly in preparation for the launch of the FraughtMovie Channel. At this juncture, a small friend group existed, which would eventually evolve into the Fraught Squad. Mastercraft, would later spawning a series and gained notoriety for its challenging gameplay.
