📖 Kuroe/Three Factions Era

GEN 6/CuteTitanPanda Administration

The Kuroe/Three Factions Era began on January 1, 2016, when CuteTitanPanda—who later renamed herself "Kuroe,"assumed nominal leadership of the community. During this period, the Consulate of Leaders managed and enacted projects on her behalf. The era was characterized by recurring leadership and succession crises, often triggered by sudden absences of key figures, which at one point led to the community splitting into three factions. Despite these challenges, the period also saw notable progress and increased formalization within the community’s structure.

The Rocky Start

The Fraught Point (FP) debuted in 2014 as an in-game currency within the FraughtShop and FraughtShop 2 Minecraft maps. It became the de facto currency of the Xbox 360 Community, primarily used on the FraughtShop 2 map to purchase items and features such as PODS cosmetics and access to minigames.

By 2016, development of the FraughtShop 2 map had ceased, and its popularity had peaked. Although no new minigames were introduced and PODS usage declined, some members continued to revisit the map to use FP as a currency or to receive FP as prizes in community events organized by FraughtMovie.

An attempted successor, FraughtShopPC, was launched as an application linked to the FraughtShop website. Adoption was limited, though it offered a 1,000 FP welcome bonus to members who registered through a Google Form. This bonus, a holdover from the earlier maps, was used twice.

Without a functioning transfer system, the community explored alternatives to formalize FP as a currency. Proposals included a “Point Card,” envisioned as an image encoding balances that could be shared via messaging apps, and even adopting Bitcoin, which was relatively obscure at the time.

However, as key members shifted focus from gameplay to administrative roles, overall activity declined. The community remained centered on FraughtMovie’s "intellectual properties," Minecraft maps and events, but as these maps were played less frequently, demand for FP diminished. The currency was formally suspended on January 31, 2016.

A fledgling economy

The Fraught Point was introduced in 2014 as an in-game currency for the FraughtShop and FraughtShop 2 Minecraft maps. It became a de facto currency within the Xbox 360 Community, where many members played on FraughtShop 2. The currency was mainly used to purchase map-related items and features, such as PODS cosmetics and access to minigames.

By 2016, development of the FraughtShop 2 map had ended, and its popularity had peaked. No new minigames were released, and use of the PODS declined. Some members continued to revisit the map primarily to use Fraught Points as currency or to receive them as prizes in events organized by FraughtMovie.

A proposed successor, FraughtShopPC, was designed as an app to accompany the FraughtShop website. Adoption was limited, though it offered a one-time gift of 1,000 Fraught Points to members who registered through a Google Form. The new member bonus was a carryover from the original maps. The form was only used twice.

Without a system to transfer or track Fraught Points, the community discussed several alternatives. These included the idea of a “Point Card,” an image shared through messaging apps that encoded a user’s balance, and the possibility of switching to Bitcoin, which was relatively obscure at the time.

As key members shifted their focus from gameplay to management roles, overall activity declined. The community remained centered on FraughtMovie’s creative projects; Minecraft maps, events, and related content. As these maps were played less often, demand for Fraught Points diminished. The currency was formally suspended on January 31, 2016.

The NFP, the FP's Replacement

The transition from Fraught Point (FP) to New Fraught Point (NFP) is not precisely documented. Adoption was gradual, beginning after FP was suspended on January 31, 2016, and first appearing in a FraughtMovie map in September. The change was so incremental that the FP counter remained visible on the FraughtShop Google Site until its closure in 2020.

Several factors contributed to the replacement: the devaluation of FP in FraughtShop and FraughtShop 2, the complexity of storing points across maps and websites, the decline in popularity of FraughtShop 2, and the desire to unify the wider community economy on Xbox 360. Unlike FP, the NFP was designed as a universal currency for the entire community, with records maintained first on a website, later in spreadsheets, and eventually in Google Sheets.

The initial exchange rate is believed to have been 1 NFP per 10 FP, as new members received a 100 NFP bonus shortly after the change. Over time, as older members converted their FP holdings, the rate shifted dramatically, eventually reaching 1 NFP per 1,000 FP or more. By October 20, 2016, member bonuses and payments had risen to 1,000 NFP.

The NFP also represented a second attempt to control inflation. New currency was created only when a member joined or during select events. Its value was originally intended to be pegged to external standards, modeled after the Gold Standard, and later linked to the U.S. Dollar and the Peruvian Nuevo Sol. However, this system was not sustained. Without a formal treasury or income, the NFP remained non-convertible for most of its existence.

"4 Years of FraughtMovie" & the Nostalgic Community

On February 6, 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel released its first video since 2015, titled 4 Years of FraughtMovie. The video presented short clips from earlier productions alongside recreated speeches and announcements. Although the title suggested a four-year history, the earliest known activity of FraughtMovie dates to mid-2012, making the calculation imprecise but the closest estimate available at the time.

Before this release, the community’s history was preserved mainly through oral accounts and in-game exploration of older Minecraft maps. To learn about past events, members typically relied on direct conversations or guidance from FraughtMovie. The 2016 video marked the first accessible record of the community’s history outside personal interactions, highlighting FraughtMovie not only as a content creator but as the center of a broader community. For many viewers, the edited speeches provided their first exposure to earlier events.

For long-time members, especially those returning after the Problematic Era, the video prompted reflection on the community’s earlier state. This renewed interest led to calls for maps that replicated or continued the style of older creations.

The Failed General Election

On February 25, 2016, a Google Form titled "Fraughtian General Election Form" was created, with the first recorded vote submitted the same day. A related website, "fle2016", branded as "Decide 2016: Fraughtian General Election", linked directly to the form and announced that results would be released on March 1.

Three candidates participated: xXBadLegosXx of the Apex Legonian Party, SamanthaDrivera of the Fraughtian Party, and cat in gaven of the Wise Party. Voting records exist for February 25, March 1, and, unusually, December 17, 2017, with no intermediate entries. Based on the valid votes, xXBadLegosXx would have won without opposition. The later 2017 votes are generally interpreted as members rediscovering the site and casting ballots informally.

Despite the election’s apparent structure and participation, its outcome remains unclear. Kuroe continued as leader of the community, and the election did not result in a change of leadership. The "fle2016" site also referenced a video that is now unavailable or private and not hosted on the FraughtMovie Channel.

Channel Rebrand and Hype Campaign

During February 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel undertook a rebranding effort. A new emblem, described as the “Red Creeper and Wreath,” first appeared in a Let’s Fail video, a format reminiscent of the channel’s earlier productions. The emblem’s Roman-inspired design was intended to symbolize renewal while evoking the community’s past, reflecting the nostalgic momentum generated by the 4 Years of FraughtMovie video.

Alongside this rebrand, teaser trailers were released for Deseo 5: Wrath of the Past and Brawny Bro 3. These projects were positioned as sequels to Deseo 4 and Brawny Bro 2, the latter of which had not been completed. The promotional campaigns aimed to attract new participants while re-engaging long-time members of the community.

The rebranding effort proved unsuccessful and was soon abandoned. By May 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel reissued a revised version of a 2014 video, this time featuring the “Circular Red Creeper” emblem and its associated introduction.

The FJS

The earliest known reference to the Fraughtian Judicial System (FJS) dates to March 17, 2016, when its logo was created. This emblem later appeared in the Help Center section of the FraughtShop website.

The FJS did not function as an independent judiciary composed of judges or justices. Instead, members submitted complaints through a form, which were collected in a Google Spreadsheet. These entries were then addressed by community leadership, typically Kuroe, the Consulate of Leaders or its equivalent, or the Regional Leader.

Channel Additions: FDL & Doggy

In June 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel expanded to include new content creators, following the earlier addition of LoveDove.

The first was It’sDoggyDoply (commonly known as Doggy), who contributed YouTube Poops, a satirical and nonsensical video style popular at the time. The second was PaigePlayzGames, later known as FDL, a long-standing member of the community since the First Community Era. Her presence was notable enough that part of a city in the Nieve survival world was named after her.

Both creators were introduced with personalized intros designed in the same style as the FraughtMovie intro of that period. However, their contributions to the channel remained limited, and neither produced a significant volume of content.

Regions & The Outermost Regions

By early 2016, efforts to unify the Fraughtian Community faced challenges. The Google+ and Facebook subcommunities were losing activity and becoming increasingly disconnected from the main body of members, who remained active primarily on Xbox 360. At the same time, newer platforms such as Amino and Skype began to attract participation.

At some point since the drafting of the Fraughtian 2016 Agenda, the term “communities” was replaced with “regions.” This change emphasized that while subcommunities operated independently, they were still part of the larger Fraughtian Community. The terminology mirrored the administrative subdivisions of Peru, where FraughtMovie resides, and likely drew inspiration from that system.

On June 12, 2016, FraughtMovie announced that the Google+ and Facebook regions had lost their administrative autonomy and were consolidated under the “Outermost Regions” (OMR). Nearly a month later, on July 21, FraughtMovie declared that the community would begin “reaching the Outermost Regions,” suggesting that services would extend to those members. The announcement explicitly listed “Facebook, Google Plus, etc.,” implying that additional platforms such as Steam or Amino had also been included. The OMR designation allowed for the possibility that these platforms could later grow into independent regions.

FraughtShop & Pod Websites

In July 2016, the only archived versions of the FraughtShop and Pod websites from this period were recorded. Both sites were created using Google Sites. The precise dates of their launch are unknown; however, FraughtShop traces its origins to the Problematic Era, while the Pod website is believed to have been introduced later, possibly in late 2015 or early 2016.

Following the failure of FraughtShop PC, the Pod platform was designed to extend the concept of “Pods”, thecustomizable sections for individual members in the FraughtShop and FraughtShop 2 Minecraft maps, into a PC-based format. The system allowed members to connect with any part of the community, view their roles and rankings, and transfer NFP without needing to be online. This feature was first used on July 7, 2016.

The Protocol of 2016

On July 7, 2016, work began on the Protocol of 2016, which was completed on September 9. The document was drafted by the Fraughtian Constituent Congress, a body composed of leading community figures. Its membership is believed to have included FraughtMovie, xXBadLegosXx, and NWO Ichigo, with possibly one or two additional participants.

The Protocol replaced the Consulate of Leaders, which had been considered inefficient. While sharing similarities with the earlier Fraughtian 2016 Agenda, it adopted a more formal and legalistic tone. It established a structured administration consisting of the Fraughtian Constituent Congress, the Ministries, and the Supreme Leader. The document also introduced mechanisms such as “Community Lockdown,” the “Survival Plan,” and the “Right to Lead,” which allowed any member above the “nubile age” to assume leadership if the community collapsed.

Although the final edits were completed in September 2016, community leadership began operating under the framework set out in the Protocol soon after its drafting.

Fraughtian Expo 2016, FraughtShop 6 "Bison" & RetroPlay

Between July 31 and August 11, 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel released four videos under the banner Fraughtian Expo 2016, announcing several new projects. The most prominent was FraughtShop 6, codenamed Bison. Two announcement videos for the project are preserved, suggesting that a third was quickly unlisted due to limited reception.

FraughtShop 6 introduced Google’s Material Design principles and aimed to streamline the FraughtShop interface, which had become increasingly unintuitive. It was among the final major updates to the FraughtShop Google Sites platform, followed later by version 6.5, which can be viewed on the WayBackMachine.

Another project unveiled was RetroPlay, a system allowing members to revisit older FraughtMovie Networks maps. Access was free for those who joined during active sessions. Later, a subscription model was introduced at 500 NFP per week, offering three virtual profiles and entry to the RetroShop.

The FraughtMovie Network Expands

In late August 2016, FraughtMovie Networks, an umbrella term for the FraughtMovie Channel, its map-making projects, and associated activities, expanded by adding two companion channels. SlyTrack was introduced on August 29, followed by Holson on August 30.

Both channels were rebranded to align visually with the FraughtMovie Channel and were intended to benefit from a shared gaming-oriented audience and mutual exposure. Subscribers to these channels were automatically considered members of the Fraughtian Community, echoing the role the FraughtMovie Channel had played in the community’s early growth.

Holson, a Spanish-speaking creator, became Supreme Fraughtian Leader of the Spanish Super Region, a type of division briefly referenced in the Protocol of 2016 that allowed for a parallel community structure with its own regions for Spanish speakers. SlyTrack later assumed the role of Minister of Economics.

The Three Factions

The Three Factions period is poorly documented, and its exact dates remain uncertain. Based on reconstructed timelines, it is believed to have occurred between late August and mid-September 2016, prior to September 21.

During this time, Kuroe was inactive, triggering an F.S.E. (Fraughtian State of Emergency) under Article 4.4 of the Protocol of 2016:

“The community elects a new temporary leader should the current leader be unable to rule. This also temporarily shuts down any chance of the new leader changing or modifying this protocol.”

Whether through a minor election or an internal agreement within the Fraughtian Constituent Congress, House Speaker xXBadLegosXx assumed the role of temporary leader. However, he soon became inactive, and possibly the entire Congress as well. Article 4.4 offered little guidance for a situation in which both the leader and the Congress were absent.

With only FraughtMovie remaining active, but lacking a formal mechanism to assume authority, the community’s regions coordinated independently to maintain stability. FraughtMovie facilitated communication among the three most active regions: the Xbox 360 Region, the Xbox One Region, and the YouTube (OMR) Region. In the Xbox 360 Region, leadership was either absent or inactive, leading Bad Bad Ganster, with possible assistance from cat in gaven, to temporarily fill the role.

Eventually, xXBadLegosXx returned, followed shortly by Kuroe. Their return likely prompted leaders to formalize the emergency mechanisms used during this period, explaining the later addition to the Protocol of 2016 and its unusual character compared to other provisions.

The New Maps

With the political situation stabilizing in late 2016, FraughtMovie shifted focus toward developing new Minecraft maps, many of which had been teased earlier in the year.

The first project was Deseo: Temples of Lore, which began development on September 22. It was the first map created since NEW! Mastercraft in the Reconstruction Era and the first to feature a fully integrated FraughtShop with items priced in NFP. Gameplay resembled RoboWars, with players capturing creatures to battle NPCs or other players, and securing strategic points that could later be contested. Unlike RoboWars, each move was tied to a minigame—such as parkour courses, search-and-destroy challenges, or timed events—that increased attack damage when completed successfully. The design was intended as a celebration of the community’s games, combining multiple styles of play. Its storyline followed the familiar arc of its predecessors.

Development of LifeForms began on October 10, 2016. The map is notable for standardizing the Little White Box layout. Prior to this, the right-hand section of the layout varied between games, sometimes serving as a time-out area or displaying other information.

On October 22, 2016, work began on RoboWars 4. The numbering reflected two earlier sequels: RoboWars: Casan Version, hosted by OL4NIYI, and RoboWars 2, hosted by xXBadLegosXx, both licensed by FraughtMovie Networks and released in 2015. RoboWars 4 sought to bridge the narrative gap between these installments.

Set in the Agustino Region, adjacent to the Platum Region of the first game, it combined returning and new characters in a more story-driven format. The game achieved moderate popularity and introduced the series to newer generations. It also featured “Designer Robos,” special units purchasable with NFP, making it one of the more financially successful projects in Fraughtian history.

Professional Recruitment, HOTZILLA2000 & GayMerMan4REALZ

Since the Fraught Squad Era, membership in the Fraughtian Community was largely informal, spread by word of mouth. Early on, joining was as simple as subscribing to the FraughtMovie YouTube channel. As the community expanded and became less directly tied to the channel, however, a more structured system was needed to identify members.

Around September 2016, with growing interest in how to obtain NFP, the role of "Professional Recruiter" was introduced. Initially, recruiters simply encouraged others to join and redirected them to FraughtMovie, who then confirmed the referral and rewarded the recruiter.

One of the first to take on this role was HOTZILLA2000, a younger member from the Xbox 360 Region. He recruited players who joined Fraughtian maps but were unable to earn credits without formal membership. In mid to late September, HOTZILLA2000 recruited GayMerMan4REALZ, who was new both to Xbox 360’s online scene and to the community.

Early interactions between GayMerMan4REALZ and FraughtMovie included a PvP match, in which FraughtMovie, experienced from earlier Fraught Squad and Fraught Army conflicts, defeated the newcomer. Following this, FraughtMovie explained the community’s history and structure. GayMerMan4REALZ quickly rose to prominence, becoming the most successful Professional Recruiter in Fraughtian history. He later requested and received training as a White Cap, the elite PvP rank of the now largely defunct Fraughtian Army, cementing his role as a key figure in subsequent eras.

As recruitment accelerated, the Pod website proved inadequate for managing member data and NFP balances. On October 11, 2016, the system transitioned to the "MEMBERS" spreadsheet

October Elections

October 2016 marked a turning point in the Fraughtian Community. On October 18, the community’s Facebook page announced elections for the Outermost Regions (OMR). The following day, Lectura News—a FraughtMovie Networks news site that replaced the Fraughtian Times—confirmed the elections and stated that Kuroe remained leader of the community. Around the same time, the FraughtMovie Channel released a Community Outlet video announcing the elections.

Between October 19 and October 25, likely on or near the latter date, Kuroe resigned. Under the Protocol of 2016, this placed House Speaker xXBadLegosXx as de facto leader of the community. On the same day, the FraughtMovie Channel published the Xbox 360 Regional Debate.

The election itself used a map previously employed for the Fraughtian Community Executive Ceremony of July 9, 2015. This version included a miniature Little White Box, a voting room where members wrote their Xbox gamertags on paper and placed them in chests for their chosen candidate, and a results room with a building façade backdrop and a small, unfinished Mastercraft course.

xXBadLegosXx won the Xbox 360 regional election by a wide margin. It remains unclear whether holding the position of Regional Leader conflicted with his role as temporary community leader. Shortly after his victory, the Xbox 360 Region reported a debt of 500,000 NFP in a November 9 Lectura News post. To address this, xXBadLegosXx donated 10,000 NFP of his own. The scale of the debt is uncertain and may have been closer to 50,000 NFP, suggesting either a miscalculation or later adjustment. It is likely that new NFP was created to cover the remainder, or that creditors pardoned the debt.

FraughtShop 7

On November 1, 2016, the FraughtMovie Channel released a video announcing FraughtShop 7, codenamed Spectre. This version formally extended FraughtShop access to other maps, a practice that had previously been unofficial and inconsistent.

The update also introduced the "Coders" program, intended to encourage more developers to contribute to the community. Additionally, it unveiled the FS Play Open Source Project, envisioned as a Windows application that would provide members, particularly those in the Outermost Regions (OMR), with a unified interface to access community services. The project, however, was never completed or released.

The Universal Fraughtian Registration Form

On November 14, 2016, the Universal Fraughtian Registration Form was introduced, automating the process of adding new recruits to the community’s membership list. The first member recorded through this system was wiltcary, recruited on November 27, 2016, at 21:09:50 by Killer Koala.

The form marked a major shift in recruitment, reducing reliance on direct administrative oversight and allowing new members to be integrated more efficiently. It quickly became the primary method of recruitment and remained central to community growth across subsequent eras.

Networker, The Fraughtian Dream

The FS Play Open Source Project gradually evolved into a planned platform called Networker. Conceived as an ambitious Windows application, Networker aimed to centralize community activities within a single interface. It was designed to provide Fraughtians with access to services such as FraughtShop, community news, and administrative updates; including notifications of community lockdowns.

The project also teased the upcoming FraughtShop 8 and reflected a broader goal of creating a platform independent from existing applications, which were seen as inadequate for meeting the community’s organizational needs. Although never released, Networker represented one of the most ambitious attempts to unify Fraughtian infrastructure.
