đź“– First Community Era

GENs 3-4/1st FraughtMovie Administration

According to oral tradition, the First Community Era commenced after a conflict with the SoulCrusher gaming clan. Following this conflict, several clan members joined our community, and FraughtMovie delivered the “Foundation Speech.” However, no written accounts of this event exist. Consequently, August 1st, 2014, was officially chosen as the start date for this era in our community’s recorded history. During this period, there was a decline in Minecraft content on FraughtMovie Channel and in new Minecraft minigames. The focus shifted towards integrating new members into the community, who were now associated with gold membership, rather than being part of the Fraught Army. Additionally, various sequels to established minigame series were developed during this era.

Slowdown, CRAZY4U G1RL & Deseo 2

In August, the FraughtMovie Channel shifted its focus away from creating Minecraft videos and began producing retro video game content. This change could be attributed to several factors, including technical issues, FraughtMovie’s dissatisfaction with the quality of Minecraft videos, the lower popularity of Super Smash Bros. (which was previously the channel’s main content), and a strategic move towards minigame development. Notably, FraughtMovie also released a new “Welcome to the Channel” video, likely in response to an influx of members unfamiliar with his content after the Battle of the Foundation, aiming to enhance the channel’s appeal.

Unlike the previous "Welcome to the Channel" video, this version would feature a Fraughtian village and gameplay of minigame along with retro videogame footage.

In 2014, an epilogue and sequel to Deseo began development on May 27th and August 9th, respectively. The original Deseo and its characters were already popular within the community. Some members incorporated them into their own works. Notably, a new member named “CRAZY4U G1RL” used the Deseos in a map but failed to credit FraughtMovie. This action angered the former and other community members. New rules were established to prevent FraughtMovie’s characters from being used outside of his maps, but CRAZY4U G1RL chose not to follow them. Consequently, he became an outcast around mid to late 2014 and, technically, was the first member to be banned from the community. His resentment persisted and later contributed to a broader “Anti-Fraughtian” movement.

Deseo 2, like its predecessor, offered perks for gold members, including access to Super Smash Bros. The game continued the storyline from the previous installment and featured refined gameplay. Notably, xXBadLegosXx, an original member from the Super Smash Bros. minigame, became a dedicated player. Alongside friends and returning players from the first Deseo, they formed a new “generation” of players.

LoveDove: The Second First Lady

CuteTitanPanda, FraughtMovie’s partner at the time, had been absent for several months. With no other means of contacting her, the relationship effectively ended. During a Super Smash Bros. play session with SamanthaDrivera, two new members joined the community: LeahRocks and LoveDove. The latter became very close to FraughtMovie and eventually became a couple.

One of the last Super Smash Bros. videos featured SamanthaDrivera, who was also a notable member in her own right.
LoveDove first featured on the FraughtMovie Channel on October 19th, 2014. It's probable, but unknown if the two were a couple by this point.

Amidst the new relationship, ongoing development of Deseo 2 and other minigames, and the integration of community members, FraughtMovie found little time for new minigames or YouTube-related activities. Throughout the year, Minecraft content was entirely absent on YouTube. The channel released a brief explainer video addressing perceived lower content turnout and a Merry Christmas video.

LoveDove received special treatment, leading some members to feel resentment. This resentment persisted over time and contributed to the Problematic Era later on. By early 2015, LoveDove officially joined the FraughtMovie channel, complete with a custom intro. Her stage name became “Spotlight Star”. She provided “Geometry Dash” playthroughs to FraughtMovie, who edited and published them.

The FraughtShop: Birth of the Economy

FraughtShop, initiated on December 27th, 2014, followed a concept similar to The Fraught Squad map. It served as a space where Fraughtian Community (gold) members could participate, earn Fraught Points (FP), and acquire items for various external minigames, Like Deseo 2 or Mastercraft. Additionally, players had the option to create and personalize a “Pod”, as well as purchase “cartridges”—small minigames or features directly added to their Pods. Notably, the FraughtShop also included larger minigames, such as Deseo: Side Story, which tied into the world of Deseo 2.

The FraughtShop, while decently popular, revealed the need for an economy system that could be used across all minigames. It also underscored members’ desire for a space of self-expression within the community. As a result, the FraughtShop had a significant organizational and “cultural” impact, laying the groundwork for a future economic system.

The First Flag

On February 2nd, 2015, the Fraughtian Army Training Base world was established. Although never open to the public, it contains several structures: the spawn area, a section for noting notable members, conflicts, and rivals, and a meeting room. Notably, the map features a red and white bicolor flag displayed on nearly all structures. This serves as the first evidence of a flag used for the community, and it incorporates the term “Fraughtian” in an official map (although it was likely used orally by late 2014). Interestingly, the flag design is identical to the Peruvian flag, alluding to FraughtMovie’s country of origin.

The Unfinished Capital

While Nieve still served as the de facto capital, FraughtMovie acknowledged its small and cramped nature. Consequently, on February 15th, 2015, a new capital was commissioned in Minecraft’s creative mode. This capital featured two statues of FraughtMovie and LoveDove, along with two gardens they built on each side. Additionally, houses were planned to be constructed for every member around the main area. Despite its monumental scale, the idea didn’t resonate with the community, and the project was eventually abandoned, leaving Nieve as the continued capital for the community.

BloodyDuckers1's Discontent

Around March of 2015, a then-friend of LoveDove, BloodyDuckers1, grew increasingly spiteful towards FraughtMovie. Prior to LoveDove’s relationship with FraughtMovie, she and BloodyDuckers1 were close. However, after discovering her relationship with FraughtMovie, BloodyDuckers1 left hateful comments on the FraughtMovie Channel. In one such comment, he even wished ill upon another member during a video meant to convey good wishes.

This situation prompted a joint video response from both FraughtMovie and LoveDove on April 24th, 2015. Despite this, BloodyDuckers1 continued to harbor resentment towards the couple and expressed it publicly, contributing to the Problematic Era.

RoboWars

With Deseo's popularity in decline, FraughtMovie wanted to revitalize the adventure genre. After a conversation with FDL, he was inspired to make a Pokémon-like map. On May 5th, 2015, development started.

Despite initial resistance from devoted Deseo fans, RoboWars gained immense traction. The game featured battles and the collection of “robos,” represented within various in-game structures. During battles, players interacted through a chest interface. An overarching story unfolded, and player actions significantly influenced the game’s lore.

However, the map’s creation and battle mechanics required manual effort, often leading to wait times for player actions. In their eagerness to progress, players coined the memorable phrase: “FRAUGHT! MY ROBO!” – a catchphrase that transcended the game and became a meme.

Country Map 2

he original Country Map minigame faced a challenge: all available areas had been claimed, leaving no room for new players. In response to this limitation and the game’s waning popularity, a sequel was developed. Unlike its predecessor, the sequel lacked a dedicated spawn area for players. Unfortunately, it failed to attain the same level of renown and popularity. This shift highlights the diminishing significance of in-game player-versus-player (PvP) interactions within the community.
